Wading the Waters
The Pisces New Moon reflects the emotional state of this extra potent year
Even with all the Fire in the heavens and the year of the Fire Horse galloping us toward our power, Pisces season has reminded us how water flows.
And it’s not always pretty.
As Pisces comes to a close on this final evening of Winter, we can reflect on the push/pull of feeling compelled to act and needing to tend to our personal energy.
Under this Pisces New Moon I am looking at my own life experiences over the past 4 weeks. I recommend it. Through the lens of Pisces, two fish going in opposite directions — what can you correlate?
Our skies have been mostly Fire and Water for many weeks so the polarity of opposites has been particularly heightened. Internally that could come as feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, dread, sadness and the need to escape.
If you have noticed strange interactions with people, overly emotional or reactive, or even an inability to handle adults conversations and concepts — you can attribute some of that to the Pisces flood — our imaginations have been in overdrive and our emotional bodies have been pushed beyond social boundaries.
The wise elder of the Zodiac, Pisces knows all, deep down, and is not always pleased to be manifested in physical form. After all, the fluidity of being in spirit form, water form, in the ether, is much more comfortable for Piscean energies, which are designed to create from the quantum field of infinite possibility.
Pisces prefers that space before the decision has been made, when all outcomes are potentially possible in any one moment. Yet in its wisdom knows that the only way to progress is to make a choice and allow the field to collapse. Choices must be decided, moves must be made, motion must go forward. Pisces knows how to swim in an extended state of potentiality and utilize it for beautiful works of art, music, poetry and spiritual expansion.
Has the Universe been showing you ways out of situations you didn’t know how to exit? Pay attention, there are off ramps to the baggage that has been plaguing you. As the tide flows in and out, so do our emotions and thoughts.
During Pisces season we were given the chance to review our inner boundaries and determine what we need to let blend into one and where we need to bridge a dam.
Then comes Aries season to light the torch on a new astrological year, from Spring to Spring. Time to manifest all the dreams we’re having! But first, let’s have a final review of the Pisces archetype and offer some affirmations under this New Moon.
Archetype of Pisces, the Fish ~~ (February 18 — March 19)
~ I Dream/I Believe the key phrase of Pisces — the inner knowing of the dream of life and the belief in a greater purpose to life, a connection to divinity in all living things
~ Ruled by Neptune — God of the Sea, planet of mystery and intrigue, mystical, hidden, ready to dissolve what we think it true to reveal what is true
~ Mutable in Mode — moves and changes energy
~ Element is Water — fluidity, the conduit that connects our emotions, conductivity
~ 12th House Ruler — the House of the subconscious, dreams, spirituality, endings
Empowering traits — empathic, psychic, sensitive, caring, imaginative, wisdom
Disempowering traits — escapism, delusion, deceit, inability to handle emotions
Pisces in your birth chart — notice where the sign of Pisces falls in your chart — which House or Houses does he inhabit? The Houses represent the area of life that is affected by the signs and the planets that inhabit them. It is in those areas that you are infused with the energy of Pisces.
For instance, Pisces is in the my 3rd House, the house of communication, intellect, neighborhoods and communities, siblings and relatives, curiosity, technology and short trips. It lends imagination and boundlessness to how I think, research and connect in my community. Which means I have to be extra careful to be clear and precise as sometimes how I receive and give communication could be misread or confusing. Even when Mercury is not in retrograde, I double check and triple check my comms and written work before publishing or hitting send. :)
New Moon in Pisces— March 18-19, 2026
The New Moon in Pisces is here to remind us of the power of our feelings and the fickleness of them as well. There is a duality in emotions. They are incredible indicators of data and information about how we are perceiving and operating in our world. They are also easily manipulated by our lower ego to focus on what doesn’t matter and crave some emotions over others.
Honoring the need for balance is a key theme for all Pisces energy, whether in our chart or in the outer world, as in the birth chart of Earth. :) Balancing our needs with our wants, our wants with our responsibilities, and our emotions with our logic is all part of the game of life. We can’t let either one - our minds or our emotions - take the full reins.
So in honor of balance, creativity, empathy, imagination and wisdom, let us say an affirmation that sums our experiences over the past month. Make your wish to plant upon this VERY fertile New Moon.
Affirmation: I honor the balance of my mind, body, and spirit. I surrender to what is while holding the vision for what can be. I allow my intuition to guide my decisions. My dreams inspire my creativity and allow me to see the bigger picture.
This New Moon is ushering us out of Winter and into Spring, seasonally, yet respect that your body knows when you are ready to push up from the comfort underground and bloom into the sunlight.
Honor your lessons over the past season and ready yourself for new beginnings and seed plantings in the next. Here we go!
