Welcome to Spring everyone! We made it through the watery depths of Pisces and bleakness of Winter to arrive at the altar of beginnings. Welcome Aries season upon our Spring Equinox (which began Tuesday night, March 19th this year)! The Wheel of the Year turned to Ostara. I’ve been changing out my altar and calling in the deities. Aries is that initiating energy, the part in all of us that doesn’t wait to be told, but forges ahead, takes risks and jumps head first into life!
Real consciousness has power and connection with everything and everyone. We are infinite beings in spirit. We don’t have to toil and suffer trying to, with sheer force of will, change our outside world. It cannot be done. For it is only in ourselves that change can actually take place. Upon this change in you, it becomes contagious, making it possible for others to make the same changes and shifts.
Your true activism is with your thoughts and prayers, with your meditation. How powerful is that? Sounds too easy to be true. It’s true! But it’s not easy. It’s a life’s work. Think about that reality — that everything you think and do to yourself, every word you say in your mind about who you think you are and how you measure up — is putting that right into the Collective Consciousness. We all feel each other’s pain, so why not try to start feeling something else?
Feel empowered by this information. I certainly am — it has been like an epiphany of the ages. Of course I know and am constantly in the process of initiation in As Above, So Below — As Within, So Without — but knowing it and being it are two different things entirely. Talking and thinking is nothing without action, without putting whatever it is into practice.
I was just inspired by watching a series on Gaia TV about how thoughts and energy ultimately work toward coherence, just as sound seeks balance and harmony with other sounds — so do our energies, our minds and hearts, seek harmony with others.
As was discussed on this “Divine Science: The Secrets of Consciousness,” our ideas and thoughts are always collapsing and emerging into the the field of infinite possibility — and we are actually the field itself. Energy is both particle and wave. We are both thought and action, possibility and form. They discussed the Maharishi Effect (Maharishi Mahesh Yogi of Transcendental Meditation: the effect of creating a field of energetic coherence when large groups of people meditate together) and how simple acts of intention and prayer done in groups can have a direct effect on the manifested world. Author and metaphysical expert, Gregg Braden, summed it up with this statement: “What we choose to experience in the world, we must become in ourselves.”
It really is that simple and powerful. Maharishi effect!! Coherence!! Follow the cosmic wisdom that is calling you, that is beckoning you to pay attention.
You feel it too, don’t you, just under the surface? Things are shifting not just personally but major paradigms are being undone. We, as a collective humanity, are undergoing a death and rebirth process. The more we can attune to our personal, individual purpose and healing, the more we can help others do the same — often just by example alone! They see the shift, the change in our essence, and they want to find it for themselves. Let us plant seeds of possibility and optimism in the hearts of our fellow humans.
Things are breaking through the ground, the solutions we all desperately want are already here because we have conceived of them. But the old ways, the traditional framework, has to fall. It must be deconstructed so that our new foundation can be reconstructed. Like a house that has to be remodeled, the demo comes before the rebuild. Tearing down what doesn’t work while keeping what does — but only what can harmonize with the new. If not, it has to go.
It requires a willingness to see our parts in our own destruction, the ways we keep the bad memories right at the surface, ready to be spilled to anyone who might listen or when the right trigger happens, we’re all to happy to oblige with an over-reaction. Ask yourself: What part have I played in where I am right now? Take out all the things others did and examine your own decisions. Time to take responsibility, especially if you feel wronged or have some serious resentment.
I joyously release the past. Thank you, Louise Hay, for that reminder on my daily calendar. The affirmation stands. Aries is about the present, about doing things, about being here now. The past is a memory, it no longer exists.
A friend of mine recently sent me a video from Sadhguru’s IG page. It was the perfect time to receive this reminder. We all have things happen to us that we didn’t ask for, or deserve, bad things, terrible things — we all have these wounds — but it is through the transmutation of those wounds, the carrying on with life and going forward — that turn the wounds into wisdom.
His direct quote: You can either be wounded or wise.
This is some in-your-face truth that every, single one of us needs to swallow. Do you want to be wounded forever, or do you want to become wise? Sadhguru said it stands to reason that those who’ve had the worst happen to them have the best ability to become wise, and faster.
I’ve said it over and over but we didn’t come here to have things easy. Our Souls want experiences and they don’t differentiate between good/bad/ugly/pretty experiences. In fact, the harder they are, the better, for it is like cultivating muscle. The more tension you have, the stronger and harder the muscle gets and before long you have increased strength. All that tearing down and building back up of muscle is the same as spiritual strength. We are like the muscles of our Soul. We have to encounter resistance and pain to toughen up and use that energy to become smarter and kinder, to spread wisdom in the world instead of just recirculating pain.
Feeling is important, don’t shut them off BUT ALSO don’t worship them. It’s important to understand the function of emotions and feelings. Going too far by either running away from them/stuffing them or overly addressing them/being super reactive — does not serve the function of life. Avoid wallowing or over exploring. That goes doubly for our thoughts. The lower ego likes to hide in our memories.
As the season changes, we awaken from the slumber of winter into the promise of new life. Spring is here, upon us lay the petals of rebirth. Engage this new chapter, this fresh slate, to start anew your dreams and visions for a happier future. With the entrance of more light, we find ourselves in the pivot point, the fulcrum between You and Others. Where can you find balance while honoring your internal needs? Dream time is over, it's time to make manifest. It's time for doing. Shake off the snow and point your feet toward the work in front of you. Accept what is, embrace your inner fire, be the eternal "I Am!"
Burst forth energy upon the Earth
Spring breathing new life, rebirth
Action, strike the match, fire within
Time to make manifest, to begin
Movement toward something real
A cultivation of effort, perseverance
Working an idea into form, thought into matter
A triumph of persistence
Let the change of season quicken your heart
Eyes wide open for growth
Expanding spirit in a quest for unity
Light is here to shine upon us all
Spring Equinox + Ostara Affirmations
These are good to do anytime during this first week of Aries to harness the Equinox and Spring energy. Here are some Affirmations by Element for your Spring blessings.
Fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
Air signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Water signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
FIRE — I reclaim my fire to cultivate more passion, discipline and action toward my dreams ~
EARTH — I reclaim my ability to move Earth with flexibility and stabilize my life and relationships ~
AIR — I reclaim my desire to speak with clarity and purpose, to inspire the light with my communications ~
WATER — I reclaim my sensitivity with strong boundaries in order to use it for productive compassion ~
Stand still, breathe deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth. Say your affirmation three times then light a ceremonial candle, a mini taper candle or a tea light (something that doesn’t burn more than 2 hours). After the candle is lit, stare into the light of the flame and repeat your affirmation in your head.
Sit silently for at least 5 minutes and reflect on the energy of the change of seasons, from the Sun being in a Water sign (how have you felt over the past month) to a Fire sign (notice if you’re feeling more motivated). We also have the upcoming Lunar Eclipse energy to give adrenaline to this vibe.
Allow the candle to burn all the way until it’s gone out. If you need to put it out, be sure to say your affirmation before you do, then say: “and so it is.” Imagine your affirmation being lifted up into the air, expanding around the whole world.
What are you ready to manifest? How are you ready to empower yourself? What are you willing to release or where can you move into a new phase? How can you devote yourself to your dreams? How can you make an positive impact today? Being a good neighbor, being nice to your siblings, showing kindness when someone needs it (including yourself) — that’s all it takes to contribute positivity to the Collective. Give it a try!
Aries Season has arrived! Fire has come to warm our bodies and get us active. Time to sow the seeds of our advancement! We have a Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse following up in a few days – BAM – Aries Sun and Libra Moon – “I Am” and “We Are.” Things to ponder upon this powerful week of cosmic energy and seasonal shifts!
Up next: Full Moon Eclipse Ritual — keep an eye on your inbox for this prayer and ritual suggestion for this powerful lunation.
